These elements often come into play when someone tries to convince someone else to agree with them

These elements often come into play when someone tries to convince someone else to agree with them. Recall a time when you wanted to get someone to agree with you. Did you support your beliefs with facts? Did you perhaps leave out key details, bring in unrelated ideas, or become overly emotional to make your case?:

Boss (2017) tells us that there are three general types of informal fallacies fallacies of ambiguity, fallacies of relevance, and fallacies with unwarranted assumptions. It is important to look at all of them as while they can certainly be used in the media or advertising or by crafty salespeople/politicians, some of them we can use ourselves by accident. First off we have ambiguity which can cause uncertainty due to the potential of multiple meanings.

Boss (2017) points out that people that struggle with language and communication skills are more likely to use these (usually by accident) or fall for them simply because they don’t understand. The different types of fallacies that fall into this category include equivocation, amphiboly, fallacies of accent, and fallacies of division (Boss, 2017). While the book gives good examples, I’d like to see everyone put them into action. Pick one or two and give your own example, maybe one that you’ve even used or had used on you. How do then bias and assumptions play a role in those fallacies?

(**Please note — this week’s assessment has to do entirely with understanding these fallacies and how to determine which one you may be dealing with in real life situations. Being that you can only take the quiz once, ensure you have fully read that section, maybe a couple times, and take your time through the assessment.) I’ll start — when I read the section on amphiboly, I totally thought of the signs I see in neighborhoods that say “Slow Children” with a picture of kids running.

I know that it means I should drive slowly because there are children around but the sign always makes me chuckle. I need help with an discussion post for my university the two links above are to the readings and the bottom portions are my directions to the assignment. I only need it to be 175 words long. If you have questions are need my login information to find further information please feel free to ask. Please keep this assignment as simple as possible do not try to over do the writing.

Data Collection Presentation Draft Feedback and Discussion

PART 1 FOR Week 5 Data Collection Presentation Draft Feedback and Discussion You will post a DRAFT of the plan to the class discussion by Wednesday of Week 5 along with a 1-2 paragraph CER Summary of your plan (typed into the discussion). Your classmates will have an opportunity to provide feedback by Saturday, and you will submit a final draft of this plan by Sunday, midnight.

Measurement of plasma CBD concentration provided by transdermal absorption revealed linearity with 0.6–6.2 mg/day doses. Transdermal CBD gel significantly reduced joint swelling, limb posture scores as a rating of spontaneous pain, immune cell infiltration and thickening of the synovial membrane in a dose-dependent manner. PWL recovered to near baseline level. Immunohistochemical analysis of spinal cord (CGRP, OX42) and dorsal root ganglia (TNFα) revealed dose-dependent reductions of proinflammatory biomarkers. Results showed 6.2 and 62 mg/day were effective doses.

Exploratory behavior was not altered by CBD indicating limited effect on higher brain function.

Practice with Case Study

• R: Interpret the results and state whether they support (or fail to support) the claim
• Do you buy what the author is selling?

Assignment 3: Transitions and Aging | Value 30% This assignment should be completed sometime between Units 5 and 9. For this assignment you will write a paper in which you explore a common transition faced by older adults. For instance, you might choose to focus on grief and loss as a response to moving into a long-term care facility.
